Oryx/ Gemsbok 

New Mexico offers free range oryx hunts on the White Sands Missile Range( WSMR), Mcgreor Range & surrounding areas off Range. Oryx were introduced to New Mexico 30+ years ago. Permits are obtained through the states draw system. 

Success rates are very high. 

They are hunted safari style. We cover ground in the vehicle, glassing along the way until we spot a shooter Oryx, then the stock is on. Lack of cover can make it tough to get close. Typically a hunter can expect shots to be anywhere from 150yds - 300yds. Due to the lack of topography most shots are taken standing off shooting sticks.
